The Patient Innovation Bootcamp is an acceleration program aimed at supporting patients and informal caregivers so that they can implement and scale up their innovative solutions and help them cope with their health conditions. The ultimate goal of this bootcamp is to help the participating teams scale their ideas from solutions to prototypes, ultimately preparing them to be market launched. The program has a blended format, given that it combines in-person training with online. Throughout the program, the participating teams benefit from personalized mentoring from patient innovation and entrepreneurship experts.

The Patient Innovation Awards incentivize the community of patients and caregivers to innovate by recognizing the achievements of innovators on the Patient Innovation platform under three categories: patient, caregiver, and collaborator. Participants have to develop and share a solution on the Patient Innovation platform that addresses a health challenge. Their projects are evaluated for their originality, potential, and impact by the Patient Innovation team and the final decision is made by the Advisory Board, composed of world-renowned researchers and two Nobel Prize laureates. To date, over five editions of the PI Awards have been held at significant events such as the Web Summit or the Estoril Conferences and 26 projects have been distinguished.
